Training your dog to do a trick is a matter of repetition and working with him till it is second nature. For dogs it's no different than children or perhaps us as adults.
We do things we are incentivized to do and dogs do things they're inspired to do also. Here are one or two tricks you can teach your dog to do on your command.
One. First off dogs are fast learners. They like to delight. To start teach them to do something straightforward like the easy way to sit. To try this get a little treat and have it plain in your hand. Lift it up above his nose and say "sit." if he is standing and makes an attempt to get the treat don't give it to him. Do it again till he sits. Then give him the treat and praise him. After a number of times he is going to do it right each time. Another way to teach a dog to sit on command is each every time you see that your dog is going to sit, let him know to 'sit!' and praise him and give him a treat when he does it.
This can take a little longer, but he is going to learn from it also. Another fast trick to educate your dog and is to educate him to shake hands. Call his name as a command. When he is taking a look at you delicately grab his paw and say shake. Then praise him and give him his treat. Repeat this a couple of times till he does it immediately without you grabbing his paw.
Three. If your dog likes to play or carry things in his mouth you can swiftly teach him to bring. Just be cautious as when he learns this he won't leave you alone all day. Get a ball that nicely will slot in his mouth. Take it one or two steps from where you are and give the command. "Fetch" of "Get", and then wait for him to come to the ball. When he places it in his mouth praise him and give him a treat. Now try tossing the ball and enlightening him to bring. When he does that again praise him and give him a treat. Ultimately you can teach him to get the ball and bring it to you before he gets his treat. For some dogs this is a little harder, but again after they learn it mostly reward them for doing precisely what you command them. Always remember not to get irritated or scold when you're training your dog as he's just learning what you are attempting to teach him. Dogs learn at different speeds.
